With heavy hearts, we announce the sudden passing of Robert L. Moore, age 62, a devoted husband, loving father, cherished grandfather, and loyal friend. Born in Carthage, New York, to Ronald and Janice Moore, Robert’s journey through life was marked by honor, service, and unwavering love.

Robert’s early years were shaped by his education at Carthage Central High School, where his passion for learning and his dedication to his community began to blossom. In 1979, he answered the call of duty and joined the Navy, embarking on a distinguished military career that spanned over two decades. His commitment to service was unparalleled, and in 2001, he retired from the Navy with honors, having left an indelible mark on all who served alongside him.

Following his military service, Robert continued to serve his country by working for several Department of Defense contractors at Fort Drum, Fort Carson, and Marine Corps Logistics Base Albany, Georgia. His professionalism, integrity, and tireless work ethic were evident to all who had the privilege of working with him.

Growing up in New York, Robert was an avid outdoorsman. He enjoyed sharing his knowledge of his favorite activities on hunting, fishing, gardening, and lapidary (gemstone collecting), during weekly conversations with his grandchildren.

He spent 33 years of marriage to his beloved spouse, Kellie Moore. Robert’s legacy lives on through his daughters: Allison Woolf (David Peterson), Sarah Chew (Nathan), and their families. He took immense pride in their accomplishments and found immense joy in the role of being a grandfather to: Conner, Kelsi, Jaylie, Jax, Elliott, Hazel, Jayce, and Finnegan. His love for his family knew no bounds, and his memory will forever be cherished in their hearts.

He is also survived by his sisters: Holly Moore, Joanne Fox (Jeff), Jennifer Gukelberger (Tom); his parents: Ronald and Janice Moore; and his brother-in-law, Daniel Elliott; along with numerous nieces, nephews, and friends whose lives he touched deeply.

In the tapestry of his life, Robert’s love, thoughtfulness, and generosity were threads that bound us all together. Though he has departed, his spirit will forever guide and inspire us. As we bid farewell to our beloved Robert, let us take solace in the memories we shared and the love that will endure for eternity.

There will be no calling hours. The family will hold a Mass and Celebration of Life to be announced at a later time.
