Ronald Rush, age 63, passed away September 11, 2020. He was a resident of Colorado Springs for over 14 years and was formerly a resident of California.  He was a United States Air Force veteran and a former US Postal Service carrier.

Ron was born on July 2, 1957 in San Jose, California.  On December 21, 1995 he married his wife Tammy Whitney-Rush in Reno, Nevada.

For most of his life Ron was an avid runner and had a great appreciation for fitness. He also enjoyed working in the yard and traveling in his motorhome with his wife and furry companions. He attended Hilmar High School and graduated in 1975. He served in the United States Air Force for over 18 years, most of which he worked as a photographer and supervisor.

He is survived by his loving wife, Tammy; his children Jason and Kaitlin; his sister Rebecca Porterfield, her husband Mark and their sons Mark, Michael and Matthew; his brother Sam Rush and his wife Pam and their daughter Danielle. He is also survived by the light of his life, his granddaughter Teagan. He was preceded in death by his mother Shirley Chandler and his father Sam Rush.

A celebration of life ceremony will be held on September 26, 2020 starting at 1:00 pm. The celebration will be held at his home, 9204 Rockingham Drive, Peyton, Colorado, 80831. A reception will follow with food and drinks.

Ron was a dedicated and devoted husband, father, brother, uncle and grandfather (Pa Pa) who enhanced our lives with his love. He will be greatly missed but forever remain in our hearts and memories.

  2. Uncle Ron was an AMAZING Uncle. So hard to say goodbye. I remember falling asleep on your lap as a kid. I also remember when you would send me pictures of the fighter jets when I was I kid and I loved those so much. You have never missed a birthday or Christmas card and yours are always the best!! You were a bright light in our family that will ALWAYS be remembered as kind thoughtful and loving. I will miss you till we see each other again and you welcome me at the gates. I LOVE YOU UNCLE RON. I love you my Rush family!!

  3. Ron, Tammy and I served in the Air Force together. He was such a wonderful man and I always looked forward to our manly-man, humous conversations. His quick wit and smile are the things Ill always remember about him. Ill always regret not getting to know him better. Miss you my friend!
