
Samuel A. Wilson passed into heaven October 3, 2026. He was a lifetime resident of Colorado Springs, born here April 21, 1941 to Jack and Mildred (Cordingley) Wilson.
He was a graduate of Widefield High School in 1961.
Sam married Drucilla (Dru) Lodge on November 11, 1972.
He worked for the electric division of Colorado Springs Utilities as a heavy equipment operator for 32 years before retiring. He also worked part-time as a driver for Hertz Rental Cars after retirement.
Sam enjoyed traveling to Arizona for many years to watch Colorado Rockies Spring Training baseball, as well as visiting all but six of the 50 states and Canada, along with numerous cruises, especially to Alaska.
He is survived by his wife; two nephews who lived with them for many years, Steve Wilson, and Robert (Melissa) Wilson; brothers and sisters-in-law, James and Betsy Wilson, Sarah and David Wilson, Mike and Karen Wilson; grandchildren: Jacob, Samuel, Dylan, Zakery, and Kaycee; and great-grandchildren: Charlotte, Penelope, Glen, Charlie, and Prestyn; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Howard and Charles Wilson.
A memorial service will be held Friday, October 23, 2026 at 2:00 pm at the Shrine of Remembrance, 1730 E. Fountain Blvd., Colorado Springs, CO 80910.
