Sharon Lou (Jones) Mekis, age 82, passed away peacefully in the early morning of November 24, 2021. She was the daughter of Herald and Gladys (Christianson) Jones. She was born in Crawfordsville, Indiana and graduated from Crawfordsville High School in 1957. In 1981 Sharon moved to Colorado Springs, Colorado. She was a member of The Fraternal Order of Eagles #143 for 35 Years. She enjoyed going to Cripple Creek and loved animals. She was preceded in death by her parents: Herald and Gladys; her husband: Otto Mekis; her sister: Nancy Green; her son: Jeremy Norman; and her daughter: Candy Tyhurst. She is survived by her sons: James Gardner, Timothy Gardner, and Gregory Tyhurst; and her daughters: Teresa Woodrow, Tamara Dion, and Heather Mckinsey. Sharon also had 15 grandchildren, 29 great grandchildren, and 1 great-great grandchild. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to charity of choice.
