Simona Dolores Allen passed away at the young age of 33 on August 12th, 2022. She was a skilled ophthalmic technician and a loving mother.
Mona, as she was known by friends and family, was born on December 1st, 1988 to Salvador Gomez and Dolores (Padilla) Gomez in Colorado Springs, CO. On August 21st, 2009, in the shining sun of midsummer, she married Alexander Hall Allen in Colorado Springs, CO.
Mona was an excellent artist and loved to craft. She also enjoyed baking and had an appreciation for fine literature and refined cinema. She attended Doherty High School and graduated in 2007.
She is survived by her loving husband, Alex; her dear children: Landen and Lucas; her caring parents: Sal and Pam; and her loyal sisters: Jessica and Allison.
A visitation will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 PM on Tuesday, August 23 at Shrine of Remembrance. A Mass service will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, August 25 at Holy Apostles Catholic Church, 4925 N Carefree Cir, Colorado Springs, CO 80917. Interment will be at Pikes Peak National Cemetery.
Memorials in Mona’s name may be made to a gofundme entitled Mona’s Family, organized by Jessica Counihan.
