Tonya Yvette Dewey (June 30, 1970 – December 27, 2022) was a resident of Colorado Springs, Colorado but had also lived in North Carolina, Oceanside, California and many other places. She worked in the nursing field as a LPN for many years, and was an intake coordinator for a local home healthcare firm at the time of her death.

Tonya was the daughter of Stanley “Stan” and Sandra Dewey and was born in Willits, California. Tonya grew up in Redding, California where she went to high school, and she attended Maric College in Southern California.

She loved the outdoors, crafts, scrapbooking, and garage saling, like her mom. There was always a treasure to be found. But her passion was definitely family. She could not stop talking about her daughter, Cierra and the many grandbabies. They were the light in her life.

Tonya is survived by her daughter, Cierra and her five kids. She is also survived by her brothers: Bruce Bucher, Brian Bucher and Denton Dewey.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Sandra Dewey.

A Celebration of Life is planned on what would have been Tonya’s 53rd birthday, at 11:00am, June 30, 2023 at the Woodmoor Barn in Monument, Colorado.

Tonya was a loving person that dedicated her life to serving others. A contribution can be made in her name to St. Jude Children’s Hospital (https://fundraising.stjude.org/site/TR/GiftFunds/GiftFunds?px=5599733&pg=personal&fr_id=39300).

Tonya will be greatly missed by family and friends, and her memory will live on forever. The world will miss her gentle, caring soul. May we all see her in heaven one day.
