Ty Everett Riley, age 19, passed away on Monday, May 9th, 2022.  He was a resident of Colorado Springs for 15 years, and was formerly a resident of Madison, Indiana.

Ty was born on August 22nd, 2002 to Christopher Riley and Estelle (Gallegos) Riley in Madison, Indiana.

Ty was a League of Legends fanatic.  He also enjoyed various Anime series, Marvel, and Better Call Saul.  He was an expert at various types of puzzles, especially the Rubik’s Cube.  He loved chocolate.  He worked at Amazon while attending Pike’s Peak Community College, and was a graduate of Cheyenne Mountain High School in 2021.

He is survived by his parents, Chris & Estelle; his brother, Michael; his grandparents, Maria-Nelia Riley, Joe & Marie Gallegos, Pat Jarrett, and Ronald Braham; and a loving extended family.  He was preceded in death by his Papa, Frankie P. Riley and his Grandma, Mary A. Gallegos.

A visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 19th at Shrine of Remembrance (1730 E. Fountain Blvd, Colorado Springs, CO  80910).  The funeral service will also be held at Shrine of Remembrance at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, May 20th.  Interment will be at the Evergreen Cemetery (1005 Hancock Expy, Colorado Springs, CO  80903) at 11:00 a.m.

A reception lunch will follow, from 12:30 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at The Airplane Restaurant at 1665 Newport Road, roughly a 15-minute drive from the cemetery.  The Radisson Hotel is within walking distance of the reception venue for anyone needing a room.  Please contact Rachelle Biber at (970) 988-6741 for details.

We ask that all attendees think of a special memory to share with us as we celebrate his life together.  Don’t worry, we won’t ask you to do any public speaking if it makes you nervous.

Thank you, Ty, for the endless laughter & joy you brought us – you were unbelievably remarkable in so many ways.  We can’t begin to describe how deeply we love you, and how much we miss you.

  1. My heart is broken for my friends Estelle, Chris and Michael and their family and friends. Ty was a good kid. I remember him playing bunco with us. I’m sorry I can’t be there to give you all a hug. I will say special prayers to watch over you and help you heal thru this difficult time. Words cant explain what is going thru your mind and hearts right now. Please just be with each other during this time. Death is never easy and everyone has their own ways of grieving.
