Vicki Lee Pearson passed away in her home the way she wanted on March 29, 2024. She has been a resident of Colorado Springs, Colorado since 1983. She came to Colorado Springs from Honolulu, Hawaii. She was a Medical Social Worker for over 20 years in hospice, adoptions, and at DHS for her practicum. Before that, she enjoyed volunteering with her children and where needed.

Vicki was born on January 12, 1944, to Beverly Jane (Cross) Weber and Theodore Weber in Kansas City, Missouri. On April 13, 1969, she married the father of her children and ex-husband, David A. Pearson, in El Paso, Texas. They then traveled all over the world thanks to the US Air Force and started having children.

Vicki enjoyed discovering the family tree with genealogy research, cross-stitching, traveling the world, hula, and belly dancing. She was a former competitive ballroom dancer, at Fred Astaire Studios in Tucson, Arizona. In 1962, Vicki earned her bachelor’s degree from Texas Women’s University in chemistry and biology and worked as a lab tech in the blood bank. She decided to further her education and earned her master’s in medical social work from Lady of Our Lake with honors in 1993. In 2005, she went to Eastburn Institute of Hypnosis and became a licensed hypnotherapist with the National Guild of Hypnotherapists, Inc.

She is survived by her loving children: Lynsey and Timothy Pearson; siblings: Diane Stevenson and Craig Weber; grandchildren: US Sailor Logan Pruett and Athena Pearson; great-grandchildren: Jacklyn and Joseph Pruett; daughter-in-law, Krista Pearson; and granddaughter-in-law, Leah Pruett. She was preceded in death by her mother, Beverly Branscomb; and father, Theodore Weber.

The spreading of her ashes will be at the Shrine of Remembrance, 1730 East Fountain Boulevard, Colorado Springs, Colorado 80910 at 3:00 pm, Friday, April 12, 2024. It will be done in the rose garden around the pond.

Vicki was an amazing woman that helped so many people and families in her career and outside of it as well. Her family was number one and she was an incredible mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She lived for family holiday gatherings, especially Christmas. She volunteered her time by helping teachers and children in the classrooms her own children were in and others during their elementary years. As they got older, she then went on to get her master’s degree in an accelerated one-year program in Texas. She then returned to the Springs. She helped raise her grandson and did everything she could for her family. She loved with open arms and helped people selflessly. If you have met Vicki, you won’t forget her and her kindness for humanity. She passed at home in the care of hospice, like she had helped so many people do in her career. She had her son and daughter by her side. Her family and friends will miss her terribly. She had 80 good years, but we wish she had had more. We will continue to celebrate and honor her life, pass on her many amazing life stories, and keep her spirit alive.
