Our beloved son Zachary Ryan Polzine (28 years old) passed away Sunday, October 18, 2026, at our family home in Colorado Springs, CO. He was a former resident of Princeville, Hawaii, the big island of Hawaii, and Aurora, CO. He was born in Aurora, CO, on July 30, 1998, to his parents, Jason and Andrea “Andi” Polzine.
Zach was a graduate of Branson School where he was the Valedictorian. Zach worked as a certified pharmacy technician at Walgreens and Safeway.
Zach loved to play the guitar, drums, keyboards and singing. He was very talented and he was self-taught. He did take guitar lessons and loved his teacher. They had a few concerts he performed in along with one Halloween concert at our house. He loved to hike here in beautiful Colorado. He also loved chess, sudoku (expert level), reading, writing, listening to music, writing music and playing games. He was such a loving, kind, caring, smart, intelligent, thoughtful, strong person and will be dearly missed. He touched the lives of everyone he met. Everyone who met him had a special place in their heart for him and loved him.
He is survived by his parents, Jason & Andrea “Andi” Polzine; his grandmother Judy Polzine of Chubbuck, ID; Aunt Lonna Polzine, her spouse Scott & their daughter, cousin Alyxx Polzine of Chubbuck, ID; Uncle Lex Polzine and his wife Janine Polzine of Delta, CO, and their daughters, cousins Chelsie & Lauren of Denver, CO; Aunt JoRee Polzine and her spouse Pat of Grand Junction, CO, and JoRee’s kids, cousins Madison & Logan Mohlman of Denver, CO; great-aunt L’Nae Hart of Tennessee and her kids Kevin, Sean, Jamie, Jenelle & Joel; great-aunt Karen Wilson and her spouse Albert along with their kids Tim & his wife Amber, Alyssa Thurmon & her husband Dustin, and Michael & his wife Pilar; and great-aunt Janice and her kids Dan, Liz & Katie.
He was preceded in death by his Grandma Linda Wied, his Grandpa Alexander Richard Polzine and his cousin Phil Polzine.
A service of remembrance is scheduled for 10:00 a.m. on Thursday October 29, 2026, at the Shrine of Remembrance in the “America the Beautiful” Chapel located at 1730 E. Fountain Blvd, Colorado Springs, CO 80910. Burial to follow at Evergreen Cemetery, 1005 Hancock Expressway, Colorado Springs, CO 80903.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests a donation in his honor to the Springs Rescue Mission or the Denver Rescue Mission. He would always try to give if he saw someone in need. He completed his Pharmacy Tech certification and worked in the pharmacy at Walgreens and then at Safeway. He also helped raise money for the Springs Rescue Mission to open more housing by joining in the Springs Mission 5k (walk/run) Challenge.
Unfortunately, we can’t accommodate everyone in our home (that would be wonderful if we could fit everyone and be surrounded by all that love), but Jason has procured a discount at the Mining Exchange Hotel through the manager Jose. For direct family it is $99 before taxes/night and for friends it is $159 before taxes per night. Their phone number is 719-323-2000.
